RE: Pennsylvania's Airport Buck!

It seems like everyone wants to see some of your imfamouse bucks. CARDEER RULES! We should have our own section on this site for talking about Cardeer. It would probablly be the most posted on.

RE: Pennsylvania's Airport Buck!

> CLEARFIELD COUNTY HUNTER RECEIVES RIGHTFUL RECOGNITION
> The Pennsylvania Board of Game Commissioners recognized Jim Rowles of
> Troutville, Clearfield County, for harvesting the largest non-typical
> white-tailed deer in the Game Commission's 2001 Big Game Awards Program.
The
> buck, taken in Jefferson County in 2000, scored 203-1, and ranks fifth in
> the state's All-Time Big Game Records for the "non-typical white-tailed
deer
> firearm category."
>
> Rowles, whose measurement application was originally misplaced by the Game
> Commission, was excited to finally be officially recognized. Garry Forgy
of
> McVeytown was originally recognized for taking the largest non-typical
deer
> with a firearm in the 2001 Big Game Awards Program with a Mifflin County
> buck taken in 2000 that scored 197-3.
>
> Game Commission Bureau of Information and Education Director J. Carl
> Graybill Jr., who oversees the agency's Big Game Awards Program,
> acknowledged the unintentional oversight in late October. During the
> presentation on Monday, Jan. 14, Graybill said, "This buck was something
> special. It is the largest known non-typical buck taken by a Pennsylvania
> hunter in the gun category in 50 years. That's quite an achievement!"
>
> Rowles received a plaque for his accomplishment. His buck is only one of
> three to rank in the top-ten for non-typical buck taken with a firearm
over
> the past 10 years. In addition to Forgy's eighth-place buck, Kevin
Brumgard
> of Mt. Wolf shot a non-typical buck that scored 197-6 (seventh place).
