Lake Sangchris, Illinois

Anyone ever hunt it? I got my permit and am wanting to hunt it but am unsure on where the deer are moving at and such. I didn't know if anyone on here has hunted it nad woudl be willing to let me know where the deer are moving, what the good areas are. I dont have a boat so I can't get to the peninsula. Or if anyone is wanting to go hunting this Thursday (12/27/07)let me know.

Thanks!
Leroy

Im not too far from lake sangchris. gosh I havent hunted there in years. A person would think that they should be getting some decent deer over there since they have implemented the point restriction. For what its worth one of the workers there once told me that the east side was good and alot of times overlooked.
Good luck and be sure to postsupdates on how it goes.

Iv hunted it. your best bet is to hunt a little inside a field edge, even a CRP field. Its just so thick back in there its hard to work with but i went scouting and seen several bucks but really never had a chance to hunt it.

What field are you talking about? Where are the CRP fields at out there? I don't have a map of it and the one one the internet is pretty, for lack of better words, ****ty.

They used to have maps available in the hunter check in stations. If not and you can get by during the week im sure they would have them at the ranger station/office.
I know there are some fields north of the rangers office. Theyusually plant them in some sunflowers for dove and some corn .
As i had posted earlier I havent hunted there in a long time, but some guys have told me that the west side held deer . There really isnt alot of timber /brush there but guys have told me there are deer in it.
Im not sure how it is over there know but there used to be a some pretty good guys that worked there ---they may be able to give you some helpfull info .
