Acorns

This is about the worst deer season I've ever had, and that covers close to 40 years of hunting. Dang acorns all over the place, every 15 foot or larger oak is loaded, therefore the deer aren't moving much. A good friend and taxidermist isn't getting any many heads in and the proscessors say their numbers are very low. I'll be gald when we have a decent freeze that will sour the acorns and push them to a more normal pattern. They are hitting my Buck Forage Oats a little, but it seems to be midnight thirty when they visit.

Thats the way my season has went. Acorns everywhere and on top of that there is 300 acres of heavy timber that borders our land and the conservation allowed no hunting on it this year. So I'm sure the deer are hanging out there. Hopefully next year will be better.

My season went the same. I was set up to have the best year ever but the deer just didn't show up. I didn't see a single large racked deer all season. We have great food plots which have not been used at all during the day time and just a little at night. The deer just didn't move on my place this year.

Same issue here in MS.. I am not sure that I could see a deer if it walked out onto our food plots because they are so tall..
