Nothing weird at all about it. It is a buck fawn. Should be good venison, enjoy.

I can see buttons in the pic but no swollen neck. Congrats either way though.

OK ya'll...I'm new to the forums but, not new to deer hunting!!! He ain't no button buck!!! I know what a button buck is. It is a yearling buck whose horns have not come through the skin yet. This deer was nothing like that. The hair on his head was dark and ruffled. (From rubbing trees???) That is what looks like buttons in the pic. We pulled the jaw bone this morning and tooth wear is consistent with a 3 1/2 year old deer but, he only weighed 96 pounds.

And, yes, his neck is swollen. At least about as swollen as they get around here.

I have been going hunting with my dad since before I could walk....killed my first deer when I was 8 and my first buck when I was 10. I am 32 now.

One last time....[:@]

THIS DEER WAS NO YEARLING, BUTTON BUCK, KNOBBY, ETC.

Will taste great, but the scope length is as wide as the body and the snout is small. 3 1/2 year old deer is hard to get mixed up with a buck fawn but anyways nice deer.
