"The EHD virus, which is spread by a midge, disappears with the first frost; however, the mortality rate in localized areas can reach as high a 20 percent, and this may have contributed to the decrease in harvest in certain portions of counties affected by the disease."
Not, I am still seeing little bugs in the woods. We have seen as high as 85-90% mortality. We have watched it hit every three years since the 80's and a light die-off is around 50%.

HuntinGus,
I noticed that you are from Boone County. Do you know Jessico White, or Jessie, or maybe he's Elvis this week?

I was born in Clarksburg...grew up in Doddridge County. I left in 1968 to join the Army 'cause I couldn't find work back home. Since my folks died I don't get back there very often.
