My buddy shot this 10pt in Buffalo, Texas yesterday morning. 27 degree's..........ANYWAY........this buck had this hole in his horns. I heard some jkind of beetle does it while they are in velvet.......is that true ?

yes acually its a fly
but that one looks like its acually the rack itself like it was going to web there nice deer though

I don't believe the fly theory.....95% of the holes are in the same general location on the mainbeam.

Well.....................after reading all of the posts its as clear as mud ! Ha ! I tried to find something on google, but I didn't find anything. I'll keep searching, walking the land for answers..........Anyway, I'm gonna post a few more pictures of the deer later today.

i think it's from a tick. when the antlers are in velvet ticks will occaissionalyfeed on the soft antlers. i have an 8 point on the wall with a hole on the bottom side of it'sright main beam.
