Prices vary, vacant land will run roughly from $2K to $5K per ACRE.

I would think that $300 to $500 per acre would be a steal, must be a dump site.

There are parts of Ohio where land can be had for $1,250 to $1,500 an acre.

But, there are some big issues:
1) The land is not tillable (has no agricultural value)
2) The land has no timber value
3) The land typically is not accessible by a main road - off a dirt road
4) There is not much road frontage
5) There is no buildings
6) Sometimes you have to cross a stream to access the property.
7) No utilities run to the property
8) There are no buildings on the property
9) The property can only be accessed by easement

Based on my experience you will not be able to touch land for under $1,250 an acre unless it is mine reclaimed or has other signifcant issues.

I got my land for a steal and paid $2,000 an acre, it should have been at least $2,500. I watched the newspapers like a hawk and called my realtor daily!!!

Yeah, land is hovering around 2500 an acre in these parts....luckily my family bought up several hundred acres back when it was 75 an acre. lol Way before my time.
