AMMO QUESTION
I usually hunt with Remington corelockts in my 270, but my dad picked me up some ammo from Bass Pro, and it is Winchester AccuBond 140 Gr. Bonded. They have the silver shell, and the bullets themselves are black with a red tip. They look like ballistic tips to me, but I don't know. What's the difference between these and corelockts, and do y'all recommend that I use these?

RE: AMMO QUESTION
The Accubond is a bonded bullet where as Core-Lokt is a standard cup and core bullet. I would use whatever shoot good in your gun. Both will work on game.

RE: AMMO QUESTION
I shot the .270 for years and always used 130gr. Whengoing to CO, I used Fed 150gr NP, with great success..

RE: AMMO QUESTION
My son has killed over a dozen deer with Win Supreme Accubonds, and they have worked great.

RE: AMMO QUESTION
The Accubands are bonded bullets and hold up better the cor-lokts are quicker to expand. If you use the accubonds you "might" not have as large an exit hole due to lack of expantion on smaller deer. IMO

RE: AMMO QUESTION
The accubond is a very nice premium bullet. They really shine when used on thick skinned big game like elk but should be more than adequate for deer. The bullet will stay together even punching through a shoulder bone but still still give good expansion if it doesn't hit bone. The only drawback to them is that you are looking at a $40+ box of shells.
