I knew it !
Hey just for giggles try the 100 gr Hornady factory ammo next time. I been preaching this bullet to my .243 shooting friend for years,he finally got around to using it this year and has taken 4 deer with it this year, one really big axis and he was totally impressed with it and the exits, and blood trails for the whole 20 yds LOL. Not that the core locks wont kill, the hornady's just really seem to do a number on them, Next would be the federal 100 gr sierra game king.

I might give them a try, but, I get MOA accuracy out of the cheap Remington fodder, and I've only had one deer that didn't expire within direct line of sight, and that's only because he ran behind a thicket... and he left plenty of blood to follow for the 40 yards or so.

We had some very good guesses on the scoring. Some of you were generous. Thanks.

Right Left
MainBeam 20 4/8 19 1/8
G-1 2 3/8 2 2/8
G-2 8 7
G-3 6 1/8 6 7/8
G-4 1 1/8
H-1 3 3/8 3 2/8
H-2 3 3/8 3 2/8
H-3 3 2 7/8
H-4 2 2/8 2 3/8
Inside Spread 14 1/8

Total 111 2/8
Net 106 3/8

Take a look at the photos again... Any idea whether he might be the dad or granddad of the buck my son shot this year:

kinda random but i hate the synthetic black stocks on guns these days, i love the old fashioned wood stock
I agree. I like the look of a nice wood stock as well. Even the laminates can be quite nice. But, for function and not having to worry about dinging up that beautiful wood, the synthetics can't be beat. I even took the laminate off of my .30-06 and put on a synthetic. Synthetics also help to keep the price down...

Especially while carrying on ATV rifle rack!

Yep. That'll do it. Or, climbing in and out of blinds. Or, slung over your shoulder and rubbing against the trusty 1911 or belt knife....

Hey, RH... Do you think the two bucks pictured might be related, considering the curve of the antlers back in toward the nose and the upswept mainbeams? The two were shot on the same 500 acre pasture, within about 800 yards of each other.
