is this a nontypical point?
Trying to get a rough score of this rack. Is the, what would bethe g-3, on the left beama typical or nontypical point. It comes out of the beam offset from the rest. If it wasn't there the rest of the points would have matched up. I'm thinking nontypical but it's for a contest so I need some expert advice. And if it nontypical, where do I take the circumfrence measurement of what would then be the g-2 and g-3? Thanks in advance for any help.

I shot that deer's brother here in indiana, except mine had his point on the left side, had one on the right side to but broke it off. I was told to score it as a typical and that point would be a deductionhttp://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee168/timberghosthunter/009-1.jpg"

RE: is this a nontypical point?
I agree the rack is typical, but the 3rd point on the left, it would be a deduction like timberghosthunter suggests? your right about them being brothers timberghost, but i've never heard of a deer dispersing that far What did yours score? guess it'll have to go down as a deduction unless anyone else has some advice. thanks

RE: is this a nontypical point?
I've got him scored at 119 4/8 gross and 105 net. He lost 8 inches because of the broken brow tine and 5 4/8 because of the big nontypical point. sound close?
If Iscore the point in question as a regular point, he grosses 125 4/8, net 111 6/8. |
RE: is this a nontypical point?
TYPICAL

RE: is this a nontypical point?
If a tine doesn't have a match on the opposite side, it is a deduction.

RE: is this a nontypical point?
typical.. i believe the definition of a non-typical point is any point that begins from the side or bottom of the main beam... I also think double brows are considered non-typical but dont quote me there..
