rotten deer?
my dad shot a 7 point buck tuesday (11-27) and he tought he missed due to no blood found and no hair,yesterday(11-29) when he was hunting he found the buck that he "missed" and beingtwo days old itsmelledrank and the guts were all mush....Getting to the point I was just wondering if you think that i should even bother trying to salvage any of the meet.

RE: rotten deer?
I don't know. Maybe take it to a meat processor and see if they can salvage any. What was the weather like between shoot and find?
|
RE: rotten deer?
it was between 30 and 40 degrees

RE: rotten deer?
No it is a bad deal and people hate to see it but is it really worth risking your health for a few pounds of meat?? I say dont eat it. Just learn from the experience.

Go ahead and eat it. If you have a death wish.
Its not worth it I hate to say it but count the deer a loss and leave it. |

I shot a buck afew years ago in the guts.I found about 36hrs later. It didn't smell rank and I ate it and didn't get sick.
