What age is this deer's teeth?

I've looked at pictures online from a couple of websites and I come up with 1.5 years old. I guessed this mainly by the fact that his last molar hasn’t fully erupted yet. Anyone good at ageing teeth?

Just this one. Not sure if it will help or not though... It's not much different.

I don't know, it depends on if it's baby teeth have fallen out yet. Was this a yearling.

The deer wasnt from this year if that is what you are asking. He was at least 1.5 years old.

When the DNR used to check in your deer for firearm season in Illinoisthey could age the deer in a second by looking at their teeth. I was hoping someone on herecould do the same. People seem to be able to age deer on the hoof, but that doesnt seem too reliable to me.

I am guessing 2 1/2. Look at the wear in the front and then count the teeth back to the molars.
Here is a page with the age diferences. Look at the 2 1/2 year old. Very close.

I would say this deer is either 3 1/2 or 4 1/2...it's hard to tell about the very back tooth.

The 1st molor is too developed and worn to be 2 1/2.

If the very back tooth is flat it's 3 1/2...if it's worn at a forward angle it's 4 1/2. The 2nd picture looks like 4 1/2 to me.

Plus at 2 1/2 the very back tooth is barely coming through the skin.
