Default Is It a trophy

Gotta know if this one belongs on the wall or should I save my money and hold out for a bigger deer. 16" inside spread and about 9" G2s. Biggest buck I have shot so far.

You shot it, too late to be asking that question.

If it is your biggest buck so far then Yes unless you are hunting some prime area where there are much bigger dear. But if it were I, somebody would be stuffing foam in his butt.

First off, congrats, that's a big deer! Most taxi's won't even start mounts till after season is over. You can always turn it into a European mount if you do get a bigger one.

Decision should be yours to make, trophy should be something special to you, not everyone else.

That is a nice deer, would love to see him on my wall, but you have to call it. If you have a freezer that will hold him, cape him out and give it some thought.

What did it take for you to harvest him? To me, a mount is about the hunt and the memories that go with it. It has nothing to do with the biggest. My favorite mount is a 6x6 that scored 141 5/8B&C. Is it my biggest?...no, but one of my most memorable. Plus it is very symetricle, only losing 2 3/8 in deductions. It will be your trophy, only you can tell it's value. To hell what everyone else thinks (including me).

Hes one to mount in my book. hes gota nice swollen neck and nice rack, Id mount him ESPECIALLY if he's your biggest so far. Maybe its just his height but he looks wider than 16". Nice deer man

Wall hanger is in your mind not others, I have a 120 inch 8 pointer on the wall that is darn near perfect 5/8 deduction, the taxidermist said he was probaly 6-7 years old so I was proud enough to mount him.

I'd agree with them saying it's your call. I have one much smaller than that on my wall. It was my first buck, and I don't regret a bit having him mounted. I'd say he's a great buck and I wouldn't hesitate for a minute to mount it!

Congrats!
