I think the only reason Chuck Adams wears camo is he gets paid to do it. I saw one of his older videos and he was hunting in a plaid shirt
and a pair of jeans.

For years I wore simple brown canvas coveralls for deer hunting, to great results. Of course, the tan canvas matched the grasses well, so it kinda was camo...but I also hunted a couple seasons when it was rather warm only wearing a t-shirt and bluejeans. My cousin that started me deer hunting said it best, "with a rifle, by the time they can see you, they were already dead, if not, you wasted time."

As for bow hunting, I always wear camo, if not a ghillie suit, just because you're getting them into range where they can not only see you, but see you with crystal clarity.

For riflery, I always wear it, but I don't think it's really necessary. Unless you're hunting in an area where you can't see deer unless they're right up on you, you don't need it. They aren't going to pick you out at 200 yrds, cuz they can't see that well.

I wear it for rifle hunts for the spirit of the game more than anything, it's not sporting to go out dressed in anything warm, I think you should look like a hunter as much as you are one.

(In all instances rifle hunting the required blaze orange attire was adorned)

Screw the 10 ring, keep them in the zero!!!

Rob/PA boyer, Did you make the orange vest or purchase it. You said it resembles the asat.Im still new to hunting(2nd yr)of seriously goin after the deer.I have the 3d asat suit and i wont purchase any thing but from know on (asat pattern).All i have at this point is public land to hunt with an opportunity to hunt WVa next season which may turn into a long term thing. Had a question for you experinced hunters, That relates to the blaze orange, is a red fox as wary as a whitetail?, me and a friend were out a couple days ago on the edge of a corn field,he was about 100yrds away on a different edge in a ladder stand, i was on ground.He was wearing a blaze parka,hood,face mask,and gloves(all blaze),i was wearing asat 3d suit with blaze vest an fleece hat.I was backed up slightly into hedgro,still had shots left & right an everything in between.After a couple hours there was a fox coming down the hedgro on my left, he was looking right at me but continued in my direction,when he got to within 5 feet of me,right in front of me, he stopped looked at my friend and took off. This happened twice that evening.If a fox is as wary as a whitetail, no wonder we didnt see any deer that evening.I know for a fact this pattern works,the asat blaze sound like a good idea.Not sure if it would be legal in DE.

Thruthevitals The orange vest I wear was purhased through Cabelas. It has black sticks throughout the vest and couples great with ASAT

A Fox can actually be more wary than a whitetail. Not only do they have the sense of smell and hearing of a whitetail, I believe they have better vision.

The fact that fox didn't see you in your ASAT camo but picked your friend out is a familiar story with ASAT wearers especially the 3D wear.

To put on any of the common more convential camos on the market, most of these guys are right, might as well put on jeans and a plaid shirt. But those of us who put ASAT to the test, know.

Dont want to sound like an asat rep, but wanted to share some other things that happened to me this season. Found an area late last season that had alot of sign,but it was about 1hr20min walk.Got the bike out this season when i was feeling energetic and took the ride.Got back there about 11am,decided to do some still hunting/scouting and sat for awhile.Got tired of sitting started to back track to where i started,a little after sunset,looked like more sign where i started. As i was rounding a corner the frags were on my left then a break with some type of weeds and then thick brush on my right.About an 8' gap between frags an start of thicket, anyway spotted 4 coming out of swamp but they were walking away on a 45 degree angle about 40yds and i was in the open,Got my doe bleat in my mouth and got on my hands an knees with arrow nocked an called to them.They stopped,looked right at me for about a minute then turned to walk away,i bleated again,they stopped again but this time the lead doe did the head-bob foot stomp and came toward me.Since i was on my hands a knees(which i learned to only go to my knees next time)i knew i wasnt going to get shot so i did as soft a bleat as i could while she was starring at me at about 35yrds, she came about 8yrds closer, i stayed as still as i could till they walked off.Heck of a rush even without a harvest.This stuff has happened to me alot this season and if i didnt suck so bad id probably have a freezer full of vension.
