If a stronger scent could cover a weeker scent a deer could smell where you or another deer walked. Try walking across a corn field. Now go back and put yournose to the ground and smell where you walked. What do you smell? Thats right...dirt and cornstalks. These smells are very strong and you can't smell the very weak scent you left but a deer can smell the scent you left with ease even when its mixed with the much stronger scent of the corn and dirt. Its the same when you squirt a little cover scent on yourself. You cant cover your scent....

You can reduce the your scent to a less threatening level.
Whatever is left CANNOT be covered - only combined with everything else - all of which is detectable by deer.
I would love to hunt where the "just play the wind" guys hunt - you know, the place where the winds are always steady and never swirl!

You missed the point, us "play the wind" guys dont waste money on snake oils and magic lamps
Swirling wind cant be stopped anymore than your scent.

Never said you can stop your scent.
Did say you could reduce it.
Especially whats left behind.
My personal "snake oil" costs about $1.50 gal to make - only thing I use.
Still looking for a magic lamp - now that would be neat to have

Keeping your scent down will help. Wash everything in unscented soap is about all you can do. The wind will shift alot and that is what gets you busted. The least amount of scent you're putting in the air the better.

Agree 100% about not fooling a whitetails nose. Try to keep you're clothes as clean as possible, shower, and don't worry about the sprays and cover scents - they are a waste of money!
