split browtin 11 point buck
been two years since i'v killed a buck.i'v let every buck walk the last two years and everyone ask me why and i told them that if it's not what i want why kill it.i think it's cool cause i had a guy hunt with me the other day and i past up a six point and i was letting it walk.well he shot it and told me that i'll never kill any thing if i keep doing that.well need to say i seen this buck standing in the middle of the field 300 yards away looking right at me.well i couldn't get a shot at him cause the thickets in front of me so i run 10 feet to the left of my blind and put a steady rest on a tree.well i shot and made a pretty good shot on him.he run on the edge of the woods and fell.he drug his self through the woods about 50 yards.i couldn't wait to go check him out so i walked out there after waiting a few minutes.when i got to the spot he went in i herd stix's breaking and leafs moving.well i messed up and should have waited but i didn't.it was almost dark so i tryed to track him but got 50 yards and got nowhere cause it got dark.well i swallowed the pain that i would never find him.me and a friend got up at 3 am and went hunting where i lost him.well it got about 9:00 and we got up and went to look for him.well we spent three hours looking for him and never found him.there was three sets of thickets and we walk them till he gave up and we started to head out.i got to the spot where we put our guns at the last spot of blood and i seen about 35 yards there was a rack sticking up in the thickets boy was i glad.he has two split browtins and a point that sticks out below the browtins on the left side that is 4 inchs.you cant see the browtin behind the other browtin cause its the oposit direction on one side.just thought i would share my buck with everyone on the site.thanks for your time

not only 300 yards but i forgot to add that the reason i run 10 feet to the left is cause he started to run and i had to get to an open spot to take the shot

RE: split browtin 11 point buck
what would you call a point that kicks out in the front thats at the base of the rack?its about 5 inchs long
|
RE: split browtin 11 point buck
Good deer ,and if you cant let the small ones walk there will never be big ones.Hell I past on two great 10 pointers this year that would go 140 to 150 inch they should be great bucks next year (if they make past bow hunters and cars). If I want meat I will shoot a doe. I have 200 acres of mostly timber so it holds them, and the food plots feed them.

RE: split browtin 11 point buck
yea thats true and i tell them that if you keep shooting the imature small bucks that they will never kill big bucks.gotta have small bucks to kill big bucks.i'v seen numerouse people this year that has taken new year deer.dang imature hunters.

Just noticed that in all your pics he isn't gutted and you said you had to wait til the next day...isn't that a pretty long wait without gutting him? Doesn't look real cold out either...just wondering...

RE: split browtin 11 point buck
it was 28 that morning i found it and i took my insulated bibs off before i drug it out cause i was hot from draging the deer from 500 yards but that wasn't the bad part.i gut shot it and didn't feild dress it cause it stunk bad.what made it hard was the deer was stiff as h3ll and every step the deer hoof was grazing my leg.the feild was disced up and uneven and felt like we was walking on our ankles the whole time.i shot it the afternoon before i found it.i caped it and cut the head off and took the rest to the land feild.dont know if you can see but my bibs are in the back of the truck.if it wasn't disced up i would have used my 2007 trx450r to pull it out.just glad i had a buddy with me lol
