So enlighten me. Do you leave your tree stand for longer than the season? If you do, I might take it to clean up what I consider a mess that somebody left.
The rules are different in each state, I'm sure. In Michigan you can't put out a deer blind until the season opens and it has to be removed on the last day of the season. Also you can't attach a tree stand to a tree with any nails or screws.

Hunting from a climber is so much simpler.

Painted Horse--Like he said the rules are different from state to state...Err regardless
some a-- hole doesn't have to steal or trash your stuff..We were thinking of setting
up some again and then watching for the bumbs to return..I have seen stands shot
to hell, because they could not get them down out of the trees...

ihunt---At my age I aint gonna use no climber......

I have seen enough things arouns here to make you sick..And then people wonder
why they can't hunt there any more. They ruin it for everyone in the area.....

I guess you missed the part where 3 or 4 people said 'the laws are different in every state'.
And in Texas, the laws are different depending on WHERE you hunt also.
On a lease where you are the sole persons hunting it, most leave their stands and feeders up all year round. On some public land you're supposed to take your stands down everytime you walk out. And on some public land you may leave your stand up for 72 hours.
If you're a landowner\leasee and you have problems with trespassers and theft, your best recourse is to pursue the lawbreakers with every thing you can do LEGALLY.
Yes, it's aggravating to have things stolen--money wise, stress wise, time wise.....but the best revenge is to see that THOSE WHO BREAK THE LAW........are PUNISHED FOR IT....... and don't do it again.

I just had a stand stolen yesterday...AND I HAVE HIS PICTURE.
Went to sit at 5:30 morning and couldent find my stand thats been there 7 years
I'm not going to the Police,I'm going to the local Hunting Clubs, and take care of it,
If I dont calm down before I find him I'll regret it,I'm sure of that
It's private and posted and it's not the first picture I got of him.
