I have a nice bow hunting spot out on Long island NY. about two weeks ago someone took a nice 2 1/2 year old 8pt out of the area. Since then I have not seen any new scrape activity.
However, yesterday I saw at least 4 mauture does still holding to the area. I think the real rut is about to begin as the pre rut has ended. My question is this.
Should i stick to this spot if I hope to get a buck. I have been passing many shots on theses does in hopes that they draw in a nice buck with their sexy charms.
Also I have been calling with no acticity other than curious does that still have their fawns in tow.
Would appreciate some advice.

Wherever the does are the bucks are sure to follow. Perhaps, an even bigger buck will take up residence.
Make your own mock scrapes and wait for the action to begin ...

yea,
i saw a big doe yesterday in field next door and had 2 fawns with her.. they had already lost their spots..
gotta be more than 1 buck in area, i would think.
i agree with 2poppa, introduce some still steaming around a mock scrape..
