Shotgun....buck at 75 yards.

Rifle....doe at 215 yards.
My last 4 deer in 3 years have all been under 85 yards.

2 at 160 first was a doe with a 30-30 170 grain power points

The second was a 6 point buck with a 270 140 grain BTSP

Longest on a deer is about 300 yards. I did shoot my 7mm wsm a couple weeks ago at 600 yards and was able to hit the "kill zone" of the target3 of 4 shots. I'm not comfortable enough to shoot that far at an animal yet though.

325 yards, doe standing in a field from resting on top of a fence post. .243

I was 16 at the time. "stupid as a post" about hunting just held the cross hair on her back. She jumped up and ran down into some tall grass and I saw her fall over. Dad was amazed.
