so the other day i was hunting and there was deer close to me...about 50 yards off in the brush....i could not see them and i dunno how many there were...but they kept snorting.....they did this for about 30 min...there was no danger...no other hunters.....then i heard some occasional grunting....my question is why did they snort if they were not in danger? i no they didnt smell me bc they kept chasing....i could hear them......and what would you use to get them within shooting distance?(view distance is about 25 yards, VERY thick in there:)) thanks

Well depends. If it were me I would use alot of doe estrus or urine and hit the bleat a couple of times wait 15-20 minutes and hit it again. You will pull some doe in with this and hopefully a nice buck will follow.

If there was a buck in there it may have been tending grunts to keep his harem close.
