I'm 5'6" and 120lbs soaking wet. My Mossberg pump with 3" magnum buckshot loads leaves bruises after more than 3 shots. That thing rocks me, and I won't do it again. The butt pad is a thin piece of hard plastic, and my shoulder's are scrawny. It's a terrible combination.

old savage o/u 12 for quail. Doesn't sound like much but it had a steel plate for a recoil pad and I had a T-shirt on. Black and blue shoulder for two weeks but, had some good eating.

I hunted with a 300WinMag for many years. It rocked me pretty good at the range. That was nothing thoughcompared to a buddy's Sharps in 45-120. Dang thing had a curved brass butt plate .... got slammed around anda huge bruise! This same buddy, who has a thing for big guns, also has a 458WinMag. His handloads weren't "hot", so it was actually fun to shoot.
The other one I would consider the hardest kicking was his 375JDJ in a 14" T/C Contender with hot handloads. Wow! You wanted to be hanging on tight to that monster! 2 shots and my hand went numb. Another friend lost his balance when he shot it and he had to take a couple of steps to keep from falling on his arse. Yup, it kicks pretty good!

An acquaintance of mine has an old 10 guage double barrel that prison guards modified circa 1920 to use against riots. They cut off the stock to make it a pistol grip and then sawed off the barrels at the forearm. Not even sure if its legal, but I'd love to blast it. I shudder to think what kind of damage that thing would have inflicted were it used as intended.
