High fence bucks accepted into record books?
I dont think deer shot on ranches are accepted into the books. So, how do they know if they were or not?
With pics of "New World Record" bucks popping up every year, how many are actually wild deer? Does B&C investigate?
These guys could easily pay to shoot one of those gnarly non-typicals off a ranch then take it home just to say they shot in on thier land. I bet theres quite a few purchased bucks in the record books.

I'm sure some animals that made the B&C min have been accepted..
In fact I think some of Kirk Darners (author of How to Shoot Big Bucks)record mule deer have been removed from the B&C beacuse some were shot illegally...

B&C probably checks the permit/tag on the deer to see if it was bought through the state or through a ranch. I think the permits might be different or they are a transfered permit which would show where it came from. Not sure though.

All sportsmen need to unite against this type of activity...period. It isn't hunting and only ruins the proud tradition of hunting fair chase. Any person or business that promotes canned hunting should be avoided and ridiculed by true sportsmen everywhere. Drawing a high line on ethics is important.

I was watching some whitetail hunting on TV where the ranches have thousands of acres, but no fences. But they stillset youup in a good place. Like where they've seen big bucks. Some places take you right to 'em. But it is open and hard to get close to the deer. They also put lots of food plots out to keep the herds around.Like up in the Dakotas there's starting to be alot of those places now. Is this also considered a canned hunt? They claim the animals are totally wild and free to go where they want. Just curious....

I've got a couple largemouth bass living in my dad's little pond. We have removed all other fish from the pond. We feed them every day with enriched fishfood and pump warm water into the pond during winter to extend their growing season. Now your telling me that when i finally decided to scoop one up with a dipnet during one of the feeding sessions and try to enter it in the state record books that they won't let me[]
