it's not so much a prank per say but.. if you have unruly younger hunters with you, duct taping them chest to ankles to a tree... tends to keep them out of trouble.

My friends uncle made a brass trumpet looking thing and the bell points towards your face and what he does is (after some beers of course) tells all the guys that havent seen it that its a univesal game call and it calls everything. I mean everything he says, deer, moose, coyotes, bear everything. Its packed with flour at the bell end and when curiosity gets the best of the drinking man which it usually does they have to hear what it sounds like and when they blow in it, poof, aface full of flour. They got two guys in a row with it one day while the other guy still had flour on his face. When you are not so sober we will say, its hilarious. Give it a shot, Im telling you for a stupid little prank its well worth it.

One year a guy in camp went to bed early, so we reset his watch and all the clocks by 5 hours. We all then went to bed and woke up promptly at midnight, he thought it was 5 a.m.
We all played along and walked to our stands - just until we split up so he wouldn't know when we turned around.
He had to wait 5 hours until sunup.
In the end the joke was on us. He scored that morning.

We used to hunt with an old prankster when I was a kid. We would all gather around the camp fire and talk about everything under thesu...moon.He would start talking about how if you threw a rifle cartridge into the camp fire it would do nothing but explode, because it did not have the pressure of the barrel and the chamber to generate velocity for the bullet. This discussion would go on for a while, and he would pull a .22 cartridge out and start rolling it in his fingers as he went on to talk about how barrel length increases bullet velocity and such.By this time most everybody would start to feel a little bit uneasy with him holding the .22 shell by the fire, and by this time everybody's full attention was on him. When the time was perfect he would say hereI'll show you, andhe would throw what appeared to be the .22 cartridge in the fire, and it exploded.
I have seen grown men almost do back flips out of their chairs to get away from the fire. It would always have men hunkered down behind pick up trucks. I was fast enough to be 50 yards away.
Later, he showed everybody the black cat firecrackers he had in his coat pocket.

If you have a stand that nobody likes to hunt because it isn't any good, persuade the new guy to hunt there. When you are showing him the stand, allow him to find the pair of monster sheds that you had planted there earlier.
The funny thing is that when we let our "new guy" in on the joke after the first day, he didn't believe us. He thought we were trying to steal his spot. He hunted that spot faithfully everyday. Not once did he see a deer. He still to this day doesn't believe we were pulling his leg.

what i did one time was set my alarm about an hour before everyone elses and when i got up went outside got the keys to their fourwheelers and hid them. then on top of that took their ammo and hid that. i highly suggest to not do this because they will be pissed. it was pretty funny though seein them come back from the woods all out of breath because they couldnt find their keys
