Buck Lure

I saw on You-Tube the other day how a bowhunter would drop several bottles of doe piss around his stand and it would attract bucks. Anyone a fan of the less is more or MORE is MORE theory of using buck lure, doe urine. Assuming we are hunting dead in the peak of the rut. Would you spray, dribble, drag a felt pad, etc etc etc to lure in deer??

I am not a fan just dropping doe urine or any buck lure on the ground. I like to put it on wicks or pads so I can take it with me. I have used that technique, just pouring around my stand, with fox urine cover scent and got my first buck that way.

I did just that tonight. Put down a scent trail while I walked out to a scrape line and put a dripper on the biggest scrape. Then I went ahead and put my climber on my tree so that it'd be there tomorrow night and through the weekend and I don't have to pack it in. After everything I sat back, relaxed and nocked my favorite arrow. Only thing I forgot was my release. It was a nice afternoon in the stand though.

I would definitely recommend the drag or wick.

I guess my question is really does anyone find good succes with putting out a large amount versus a small amount of buck lure? I have tried the less is more approach with mild success I was thinking of using a small "spritzer" bottle (CVS) to spritz as I walk to my stand and then sent pad the whole area. Any ideas?

I have only had luck with scents a couple of times and it seemed to make a differance using a drag rag on the way in verses just putting itaround my stand. and those were the only 2 times I have had deer come into my stand. also I have tried almost every scent I can get my hands on and so far the only 2 that worked for meare tinks 69 and golden estrus,
Definatly get Deer dander for a cover scent I wont go into the woods with out it I have had fox right under me with this stuff on. I swear by this. I have a new one from KIrschners or something I am going to be trying that one tommorow

I like to put a few drops in a scrape I made near an area where bucks have been rutting in. I also like to get a few 35mm film canisters with some clean cotton in them to saturate with some doe p. When setting out I like to place them in a semicircle upwind of where I think the buck might be. The canisters are great to use over again and easy to pick up when a days hunt is done. Leaving a few drops of fresh scent when leaving will help to keep that buck around for when you return in the morning. Tinks 69 or other Tinks product hasn't done me much good up here. I preffer Cronk's Deer Scents which has been making scents for trappers for years. If i can't get Cronks I settle with Foggy Mountain Scents. Good Luck to you on your hunting this year...
