Nice job. Very odd rack. Looks like this boy had a rough year.

125 lbs of meat huh? I doubt you will get 125 lbs of meat out of a deer, when live weight they weigh anywhere from 100-250 lbs, I have shot a few that field dressed around 200 lbs, and was able to get about 80 lbs of meat out of it....but anyways....yeah the rack is strange, looks like he either has had it hard or just wasnt genetically gifted....the bottom line however, venison!!! so here is an atta boy!!!

i like how you guys debat the weight of an animal by a picture. Funny now the scale is wrong and you guys are right.
he has a lot of grey on his face and head.........do you think he is older and just didn't produce much of a rack...

it looks like he might of been hit by a car, broke some points while still in velvet, and that's how his rack healed.

I would have to agree with some of the above. My experience has been to expect 40 to 60 pounds of meat with a deer that size. Depends on what's ruined with the shotand how much you try to salvage off the neck. It would be interesting to checkhis teeth for age. By looking atthe overall bodysizehe appears to be a younger deerbut thenlooking atthe width/length of his head &with all the grey hairheappears to be old deer. I'm guessing poor genetics & a deer on the decline. Congrats none the less.I'm sure thevension willbe as good as always.
