You will love the gun, best deer gun - my grandpa and his brother both bought 243's from me in West Texas when I ran a sporting goods store and absolutely love the guns. You will like the caliber and wont mind the minimal recoil from the gun.

A lot less recoil than a .308/.270/.30-06 or similar round, and it kills deer just as dead. I switched from a .30-06 to a .243 a couple years ago, and I love it.
