i'm in spencer county. the farmers had found alot of dead deer when they harvested crops. the 14 pt i posted was scored at 168 in. i know of a couple others that will score that much but haven't gotten pics yet.when everyone realized that the deer were dying they started looking.it was easy, just follow the SMELL ! i think almost all died late aug. or early sept. as they still were in velvet. i have seen very few bucks still alive, some were nice ones.gonna be a tough year.

I am from ky and I only found remains of2 but it seems that all the pics are of bucks.I wonder why that is.

Does blue tongue affect the bucks more than does?

I was wondering the same thing about blue tongue affecting the bucks more than does. We found 8 bucks compared to 2 does. Two of the bucks we found scored over 130". We usually don't shoot anything under 140" or 4 1/2 years old. All those deer were going to be our shooters for the next couple years though. We still are seeing a couple nice bucks. We have a 350 acre farm, and found that many dead, but I spotlighted the cut cornfield last night, and there were 50 deer in 1 field. One was about a 160 inch 10 pointer, and two were 140 inch 8 points. Plus I figured when the rut comes in Deer from neighboring farms will come on our property. There will prolly be big bucks we have never seen before. It is calling for a frost tonight so hopefully it ends this disease once and for all.
