Yes, but the last couple that I have killed, I forgot to take it because it was getting so dark when I finished field dressing them all I wanted to do was get going back to the truck.

The old timers used to, but stopped in the early 80's. In northern MN the deer develop flukes in the liver. You cut the liver randomly and there would be pockets of leeches. At least they looked like leeches. So they quit eating them.

I have before, its a little stronger than Calf liver - still OK though.
We always Pickled the heart, and one year someone talked us into pickling the liver - that was a horrible experience!
Cooked with onions, and a little four & seasonings - is the best way. I don't keep every liver - but its a good change of pase meal every so often - best when fresh.
