Default storing deer meat

1. how long can deer meat stay in fridge before needing to be frozen?

i put some in there on sunday after i butchered it so that the blood would run out- i have it in a strainer inside a bowl and want to be sure it wont go sour if i leave it another day or so-

2. what type of wrapping papper can i use to store it in the frig, what will give me the longest freezer life? thanks alot

4-5 days in the frig at max i would say. get yourself a vac-sealer, set your meat on a tray and put in the freezer to patialy freeze. then seal it up with the sealer (seals better that way)

If you have one of those professional meat fridge where you can hang the deer, maintain constant temperature and good ventilation you can probably go for 5 to 6 days. If you keep the meat in your average kitchen fridge, then 3 or 4 days. Just freeze it as soon as you can.

thanks alot guys. well i just wrapped up the meat in alminun foil (i heard its not the best thing, but dont have anything else right now and i will be eating it within the next month or so) andput it in the freezer.

question: i saw that the meat had just a hint of a few dark spots. is that alright? i mean the meat i cooked yesterday (from same batch) also had a little darkning on it and i ate it, and it was great. is it alright if it has a few dark patches? not many at all and the meat still smells great....?

thanks aot
