I was wondering which calls you guys use and your method with them during the pre-rut?rut?post-rut? And also, What kind of terrain your using them in?

when in pre rut, i use just a regular buck grunt, and in late pre-rut, ill add the rattle bag to make it sound like bucks fighting over dominance, i recnelt called a buck in with 2 grunts, i would grunt ounce, and wait a minute and did agian and he came walking in:D, but during rut, the best thing ive ever used was the can call!!! it brings the bucks in running if there is any in the area..

Ive noticed theres alot of different types of grunts. Which is the best to use?

I mostly use a soft contact grunt, it's their most common vocalization and isn't threatening. Fawn bleats work well in the pre rut, draw in a doe and you'll probably find a buck trailing her. During the rut I use doe grunts and bleats. Post rut I go back to contact grunts, mostly doe. I hunt midwestern hardwoods.

I use away hunting bow grunter. usually 3 soft grunts about every 15-20 minutes
