RE: What is your opinion on hunting shows
I don't like the shows on the major networks. They tend to hunt at ranches or other places where harvesting a big deer (or any animal) is much, much easier than the reality for nearly all of us. I simply don't get excited seeing a guy shoot a 10 pointer from a blind. I also have no use for the shows that show 30 pheasants flushing at once from a ranch in the midwest. These shows are as foreign to me as hunting in Africa.
I wish some of the shows were more "gory." I am interested in seeing the results of the shot - how far the animal went, what damage was done, etc. I would find this interesting, but understand why it isn't on TV.
I absolutely hate a few of the shows, particularly Tred Barta.

RE: What is your opinion on hunting shows
From my experience, when I first starting bowhunting these shows provided a lot of info and excitement, but the more I got to know about hunting. I realized that I'd never be able to afford to do it the way these guys do. I'd never spend thosands to hunt a game ranch. I don't have access croplands and although I do own some of my own land, I cannot justify food plots because of the costs. These shows in time will diminish in popularity. I don't even watch a lot of them anymore, because they are far removed from the type of real world hunting I do.
