Knife sharpening system

I am looking for a good knife sharpening system. I have a stone for quick sharpening but I cannot get a 'razor sharp' edge.

I have a Lanksy Sharping System and it works great. Gets and keep the same angle everytime and you can get loads of different additions.

Lansky is not bad, you could also look at the Spyderco Sharpmaker, or the Edgepro. All three will be great for sharpening, I prefer the spyderco for folders and hunters and the edgepro for larger blades. I kind of dont use the lansky anymore because it has to clamp onto the blade and it can skuff a nice finish. Many of my hunters are well into the hundreds of dollars so I cant have that. Just something to think about.

A little wax will keep it from scratching.

The edgemaker looks pretty nice but for 150+bucks you can keep it, I will stick with my trusty lansky!! I really dont think you could get much of a better edge on a good knife then what a lansky kit wll do??

I saw a Wart Hog V-Sharp in action once. Amazing, but too high for me.

I use a chefs edge diamond hone 460. Works great for me.

I like wet stone and a leather sash to finish. That said the lansky or gatco systems are about as easy as it gets for a good edge.

For boning/processing knives I use a steel often to knock off the rails.
