RE: I need HELP!
I'm in the same shape that you are except i'm 19. This is my very first season hunting. My neighbor has welcomed me with open arms. He's taking me goose hunting and deer hunting. He is letting me use his stands, calls, etc. Without my neighbor i really think i would've given up hunting as soon as i started. I don't think he understands how much it means to me. My dad hunts but he and I don't have the greatest of relationships. I was really hoping hunting would bring us together but it apparently hasn't. Talk to your friends about whether their dads hunt and if you could accompany them.

i started off hunting small game with my BB gun. Now i have moved up and hunt deer and partridge. Start off with small game and a small caliber rifle with a scope like a .22. This will prepare you for hunting with a scope...

Most folks begin with something small like squirrels or rabbits. Its important to have a mentor though. You need someone to help you out, teach you the basics of hunting and safety.
Where are you from? What about your parents? Are they non hunters? Would they mind you hunting, and using firearms etc.?
An option would be to find out where the local SCI chapter meets. Try to go to the next meeting and talk to the Pres. of the chapter. Tell him your story. SCI has many youth hunter programs. You can meet some really nice people that I'm sure would be willing to help you out. If you're unable to go to the meeting drop an email to the officers....
There are lots of organizations that you could check out as well: Wild Turkey Federation, NRA, Ducks unlimited, etc.

RE: I need HELP!
another thing to do, is just take a walk in the woods.. bring a gps so you don't get lost... just sit there a couple of hours and see what type of game is around you... also, you can determine quickly if sitting is your type of hunting (deer) or if you need to be walking around.. you're young, you should have a lot of energy... Either way, find someone older you can shadow and learn from. Ask questions.. not when in a deer stand or duck blind, but before and after. I hope you find something you like to hunt and that you stick with it.
My buddy doesn't have to worry about his kid on drugs or running around all weekend, because he's always hunting with his dad, camping out, etc. good luck though.

FIRST STEP:
Hunter safety course before you enter woods. This may seem basic and boring but the tips and education could save your life or the lives of hunters around you
SECOND STEP:
See first step
THIRD STEP:
Ask at a local mom and pop hunting supply store (not a big box store like Walmart, Bass Pro, ect) if they know of any hunting clubs that they could put you in touch with. Ask President of club if he/she would introduce you to the sport of hunting.
Happy and safe hunting,
