$200,000+ for 3 Bucks

My Dad pass along a story to my son and I last night about a local lawyer that took his son and a hired hand to somewhere in the midwest (Iowa or Illinois?) to shoot (NOT HUNT) 3 bucks. The lawyer killed a 300+" buck, his son killed a 200+" buck, and his hired hand killed a 190+" buck at a cost of OVER $200,000.

This all the info that was passed on to me, but I am curious if they took the halters off the deer before or after the shots.

Its not for me but the guys has the money then good for him. He earned it so he should spend it how he wants. I hate these shooting preserves but I dont want to see the government telling me how I can spend my money. If there are people dumb enough to spend the money then I say go for it and die happy....

If I had the 200K laying around I would buy some land, raise some bucks, shoot the bucks, then find another IDIOT that will pay 200K to kill some bucks and then I am even.

he is hunting to he had to hunt for somewhere to just pay 200,00 for three trophy bucks right .

i can see paying an outfitter for a guided hunt if you work alot and do not have the time to find a good spot or time to do all the work involved but to just go pay to shoot something that is more or less chained to a post

Ok guys, say it was me. I'm an attorney and work 60 - 70 hours per week and just can't put in the time for a public land hunt. I'm looking for some new buddies though in order to 'learn the ropes' in less time. If you're good maybe we could buddy up. Obviously, I have access to some great spots...

OK, well, it wasn't me and $200K would be way too much even if I had cash to burn.

Would you go with the guy, though, if he invited you as an experienced hunter and you had access to his great private spots?

I don't think I would. I've dealt with more than one of this type of person, and their success in the financial arena almost always swells the old noggin. They think they are experts at everything.

I'm not saying that it didn't happen, but I would think you could get 3 similar bucks cheaper.
