SHOTGUN SIGHTING PROBLEM.
 

MY FRIEND HAS A WINCHESTER PUMP WITH A LEUOPOLD SCOPE AND AT 25 YDS. WITH THE SCOPE VERTICAL TURNED ALL THE WAY UP HE IS STILL 7 INCH. LOW AT 25 YDS. WHAT IS THE PROBLEM HERE HE CANT CRANK THE SCOPE UP ANY HIGHER HOW CAN THIS BE FIXED PLEASE HELP WITH THIS ONE..........

take the scope off the gun and reinstall it. the scope may not be seated properly, aslo make sure not to over tighten the screws on the rings, that can cause problems, and damage the scope.

WEVE ALREADY DONE THAT AND WE CHANGED FROM LOW RINGS TO HIGH RINGS AND IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE. IT STILL WONT COME UP ANYMORE.

Is the gun grouping well? If not, I'd suspect the mounting system. If so, try switching the bases around, front to back.

If that doesn't cure it, if you're shooting slugs that are around 2000 fps, try a slower variety.

If there's still a problem, could be the scope, but also bent barrel.

If the gun has iron sights, will it sight in at 25 yds without jacking the rear sight up an unusual amount? If so, it's probably the scope, if not, then maybe it's the scope.

have you tried turning the elevation the other direction? I know it sounds stupid, but give it a try. I have had problems like this before.

You could put a shim between the scope tubeand the ring. (Front) This will raise the front. I had a friend with a .444 Winchester that had to do this. I think he just used a small,folded piece of paper.

What I would do is sight it in at a farther distance. At 50 or 100 yards for example. Then once you get it at that distance just see how high it will hit at 25 yards. And with this information, just aim a little low at 25 yards.
