Never. One, they are illegal to shoot, (at least in wisconsin) and 2, they are a beautiful and rare kind of animal. they deserve to live so others can apreciate the beauty of them.

Only if I have a shot! I've never had the opportunity, but gimme a chance and see what happens! I don't know why they are protected in some places anyway. They usually don't make it to old age or trophy class, because of genetics and they lack the camoflage to protect them from predators.
Zip, bang, phooey! Gimme the shot!

Yes the genetics are a little goofy but the one I shot was 5 years old and we have a TON of yotes arount and he still made it. I passed on him when he was a 6pt the year before. Also when I arrowed him he was chasing off a small buck.

I'd shoot one in a heart beat. They take away from the genetics of the whole herd.Natural predators would have killed them long before because the aren't able to properly able to blend in withe natural surroundings.

Heck yea I'd take a shot. Deer is probably not going to last long anyway because of poor genetics. I have seen an albino in our woods years ago before I was into hunting, not seen one since.

I wouldnt do it for the same reasion a 50 inch muskie goes back in the river. Some people put em on the wall.Thats fine, but Id be out of wall pretty fast if I started mounting every big animal and fish I got. A new record fish on the other hand, thats a differant ball game.

Actually I have cut down tramendously on what I consider mountable and table fair or put back.

Goodness, used to, taxidermist were somewhat affordable with a 200 dollar shoulder mount. Here in Md, average is 400 dollar shoulder mount. Has to be a monster now.
