Deer Eating Hydrilla!!!

I went to the range to sight in my blackpowder rifles today, and while waiting for the shooting hour, 0800, I saw something I had never seen before. I was watching the fog lift off the Monocacyand saw eight deer in the river. They were submerging their faces up to their eyeballs and coming up with weeds from the river bottom. This went on for over an hour while other shooters arrived. Some said they had seen this behavior at the same place before but it was a first for me. Could this be a new use for hydrilla...as deer bait?

I saw that on one of the TV hunting shows. Don't remember which one and I don't know if they mentioned what the doe was eating out of the lake or river, but she was definately dunking her head into the water and bringing up some sort of plants.

I see a new form of deer hunting - scuba gear and a lasso.
