Lil Alberta Buck Down!(pics)
 

Well went out for the rifle opener for Whitey bucks today. Seen lots of big bucks out there a few weeks ago while bow hunting, and me and my dad came across this lil fellow, he was about 80yds away, i had a bow cause i want to try and bag my whitey with a bow this year so he decided to take it with his 30.06 Nice lil 2x2 and got a lil meat for the freezer now. I did manage to bag myself a Spruce Grouse though.

nice grouse/pics. im hopefully going chicken/deer hunting on Sat in Rocky. It's supposed to rain though apparently, so hopefully the weather changes by then.
ps:nice deer too, those little guys are tender:)

Hey lethal, where were the pics taken? I just got back from bow hunting elk around the Kootney Plainson the south end of Abraham Lake. I stayed over night in Nordegg before and after the hunt.....beautiful country.

I was hunting in 417 so North or the Mountaire Lodge and West on Sundre. So im still south of you Dan but still similiar country. Did you manage to bag an elk??


Well i went out a couple weeks ago with the bow and seen lots of bucks and it had rained all nite then a little in the mornin and the animals were moving alot that day. And i went on Sat and it rained all nite but i rained untill about 8 and we only seen 2 mulie bucks, then one whitey buck and two whitetail does. But i have a feeling there is gunna be snow up there next weekend since its snowing in Calgary as i speak so i think the animals will be moving around really nice and the grouse will stick out like a sore thumb. Good luck to yah.

As for gettin that grouse with the bow, no i have a lil .410 survival gun i have so i popped him with that.

Thats insane dude its still like +13ish in Red Deer.my dad decided to take sunday off work instead seeing the weather will be better.

Yah i was out there a few weeks ago and lots of the bucks i seen still had velvet so im thinkin he just shed his velvet not too long ago.

Absolutely jealous of those views. Great deer and grouse too. One more day of work and then I've got to get some fresh venison, because my mouth is really starting to water.
