Default Apple masking scent

Is apple masking scent considered "Baiting" since it might attract a deer to it, which would make it illegal where i hunt, since you cant bait?

or is it legal since its a cover up scent?

Make sure that your cover scent is native to the environment that you are hunting. If you use apple scent make sure that that scent is found in the area you hunt. It would be the same as using a pine scented waiffer where there is no pine. I believe that the scent would spook the deer if they are not used to it.

It should be legal but when in doubt check with your local game warden just to be safe.
