My scouting
So I just put out my new game trail camera and I can see why people are addicted. I just placed mine on Tuesday and I am already itching to go check it. I know I should wait but how long do you guys think is enough. It is about a 1 and 1/2 hour drive to my club. I poured a gallon of buck jam out, 40 lbs of corn and a trophy rock. Someone talk me out of going to check it today please......:D

RE: My scouting
I use video cameras for all of my remote scouting. The still cameras work great, but it's really hard to judge a deer on a still photo when you can't get a 3d reference.
There is just something about a deer moving that makes him easier to score. Problem is the machines I use are made by a small outfit that I'm always afraid is going to go broke and leave me hanging with no better option but still cameras. |
RE: My scouting
Ok so I went and checked the stupid camera today. I am so aggravated. i had sixty pics of crows, coons and the trees around my area.....no deer. I have no idea why either. The corn got hit hard and the log I put buck jam on got destroyed. Could it be that the crows and coons did that too? Also does anyone know if a camera will react so slowly that it misses a passing derr. I find it hard to believe but was just wondering if you all knew. Well maybe I will have some pics to share next time. I think I am going to wait two weeks this time.
