Blood tracking light

Does anyone have a Gerber Carnivore blood tracking light? How well does it work? Thanks.

I dont have one but several guys last year said they didn't work any better than any other light. Thay said the lantern still worked better by far, But like I said I have not tried one.. Walt

I bought one last year, tested it, and sent it back. It didn't work for me. I saw another brand advertised on the Outdoor Channel a few days ago, but it looked like it was using the same LED light idea.

Thanks guys. I was just curious about it. I saw some ads for it and thought I`d ask.

I use a lantern, also. It`s pretty hard to beat.

I think its awsome. I fount a deer last year that I know I otherwise wouldnt. You need to carry a bigger light as well, or a headlamp.

I got one last year and used it only once. It helps out a little. First I used my reglular led light and found the blood and then switched to the gerber lightto see what it looked like. It did bring out the blood a lot. You could see the blood a whole lot better. But I tried to follow the blood trail with the light and it was difficult. So I switched back to the led and could find it again. It does help you see it better but it is difficult to find the blood if you haven't already saw the blood on the ground. Also, the xenon light that is on the Gerber light is awesome. It is like a mini spotlight. It shines very far. It shines a whole lot better than my led light. Overall it is a good light. If you use a lantern or other means of following a blood trail and it works just find than just stick with that way. It probably wouldn't be worth your $50.

Some guys use a spray water bottle mixed with Hydrogen Peroxide to find blood trails. The protein in the blood causes the ground to foam making trailing a lot easier.Harold

That's an interesting idea.
