Sobering

The main reason I took my two sons to the Hunter Safety Corse.
This would be a good video to show at the Hunter Safety Class.

Very sobering, That should be mandatory to be shown at ALL safety courses through out the country. If I have even .01% doubt, I'll pass on the shot, that goes for bow, ml or gun.

I'm numb after watching it.

Whether you hunt with firearms or not. All hunters should see this interview.

I don't hunt the shotgun season in Ohio and haven't since 1982 because of a close call, me on the receiving end of a 20 ga.

I hold my breath every year when the Ohio gun season opens. I don't know how many years there hasn't been a fatal hunting accident. What really bothers me is that most of the accidents are father/son or brother/brother. Loss of any life due to the most common mistake of not recognizing the target is unacceptable.

I feel for all families involved in these tragedies.

Tried the link, nothing on that site, tried their search engine, no results found. Anyone can offer some help to view this? I am new to this site, but as a weapons instructor I would like to view this. You can never have to much safety info to put out. Thank - You

It's a very depressing thing... I feel for everyone including the shooter... he has to live knowing that he killed his friend... It's something that scares me whenever I hunt public land (which I don't don't do much of). I watched the whole video... and its careless mistakes that can cost people their lives and their families suffering...

This is so depressing and an eye opener, from what I watched the guy seems like he never took his orange off. I believe we have all been anxious/nervous in the woods before and taken some bad shots. I can saythat I have always identified my target before I pulled the trigger but there are times when we make poor judgement. Shooting when its too dark is one of them. I really feel bad about some of the decisions I have made in the past about my hunting etiquette and ethics. Not wearing enough orange, shooting too late. This is an extremely sad story and everyone that watches the video should take away a lesson in safety. If any of his family reads this my prayers are with you. As for the shooter, I believe what he says and I believe he is sincere. Because I have been hunting in the darkwoods and know what he could have possibly been thinking. That doesnt dismiss the fact that he should have identified his target. If I accidentally shot and killed one of my friends, I dont know what I would do.
