The random laws the your states game commision create. The one in PA that I cant get over is the NO hunting over food plots. So does that mean no hunting over hay fields and old corn fields? Then where is there to hunt[8D]I just find some of the laws they make to be pretty stupid. And now they sold the local gun range to the POLICE so looks like back to shooting targets in the fields and woods around here again.

Back in the 70s, there were counties in eastern NC that decided the landscape was too flat for centerfire deer rifles, folks were scared of "high powered rifles"...So the law was that you couldn't hunt with a caliber larger than .22...So many of us went out and bought 22-250s for deer...I'm sure you know how flat a 22-250 is.....

The ironic thing about this, dog hunting is still allowed in this area...They allow shotguns with buckshot, talk about dangerous, shooting at a running deer with a weapon shooting 15 pellets at a time....

Who decides what is a food plot as opposed to an ag crop or family garden? Don't you just love fresh collard and turnip greens right after a frost sweetens them? An acre of them would easily supply you for the whole winter and would only take a small plot at the edge of a field, right next to a nice woodlot perhaps... Do you or a buddy have a horse? I'll bet that horse would love an occasional snack of ladino clover to break the monotony of feed, it makes a good nurse crop for other plants too... Ever try sugar beets instead of those yucky ol' red ones? Yum, yum... Ever try roasting your own soybeans? Man they're good... Use your imagination son... ;)
