it's high in sugars and salts but, what I've found from trail cameras is racoons enjoy it more than deer. I don't use it anymore, I keep it and make sandwiches instead.

Never hunt over that stuff, it's probably illegal to bait where you are.

I'm gonna bet corn is cheaper and works just as well if that is what you want to do. If you have or know someone that has and apple tree that works ok too.

I wouldn't waste the money on peanut butter to use it as bait or an attractant. If want to spend money there are much better things you buy.

I looked it up and baiting is indeed ILLEGAL in Alabama. And bait is defined as anything used to attract a protected game animal. Some states you need a certain amount or you have to do it for a certain length of time before it is considered "baiting". This is not the case in your state. You can bait though, you just can't shoot over it. You have to wait 10 days after you remove the bait to hunt that location.

At least this is the way I understand it.

Alabama hunting FAQ

Sounds to me like your buddies are trying to get your hunting privileges taken away before you even get started.

If you think peanut butter works good, you should try grape Koolaid!:)

We have the same laws in SC. Can't hunt over bait in the upstate. If baiting, can't hunt there for 10 days after it has been removed. Lower part of the state can hunt over bait, with guns, Aug.15-Jan.1, and use dogs in some areas. Two different worlds.
