Slightly different subject from the other thread.

Does anyone else seem to notice this? On those huntin shows where "Daddy Bigbucks" takes a kid or his kid, the kid always ends up shootin a scrub buck or a doe? Daddy always lets those walk and gets the biggun...Why don't junior get a crack at the biggun?

And that dude from that new road huntin show stole my sig...

You know I have often wondered this but now I think I have it. If the youngun killed a big buck right off the bat while he is still young what would he have to look forward to, I mean when I was a youngun those little deer made me shake like something else(hell they still do) so why not let them shoot the littler ones while they excite them.

I have another ? not to bitch too much but when I bowhunt and shoot a deer the damn thing always runs for at least 100 yards, but on the movies hell they walk into the woods and there they lay. That is just not the way it works. But I still like watching them.

Even the scrub "cull" bucks those kids shoot on tv are bigger than any I've ever gotten.

i agree with bucky...im glad it took 4 years for my first buck..even though its a basket 6pt them antlers are the greatest in the world to me...and bucky...dave watson used to have his forums here and its all a big reannactment after the shot...they find the animal and place it nice..clean the blood then act like they are finding it just so people dont see blood and guts hanging out on tv or maybe a lost animal...or one thats partaly alive or something....one show i seen walmart outdoors i think..the guy hit it and they showed the blood trail and all..but the animal was still laying nicely...might have been real and just happend to drop that way..of the 4 deer i shot 2 had giant blood trails and went about 25 yds and 50yds...and the other 2 dropped...only one could been clean enough for TV when i walked up to it...and when i was there there was hair and blood and pieces sprayed alover the snow so thats not even good enough...its probally best that the dont show that stuff these days...

Because daddy paid for a management or cull hunt for the kids and a big buck hunt for himself.

Well I've got a 10 yr old in his second year hunting, and he has killed his first, but I've taught him NOT to pull the trigger if he can't make a clean shot. Last year he had a crack at a big 9pt Whitetail but couldn't steady down, yet he got so frantic that the deer was getting away, and his " Shoot it, Daddy! Shoot It!" kept getting louder until the deer heard a little and started off. Soooo...daddy shot it, but it's still "his" buck...and now he's a lot calmer and the next big one probably WILL be his. He definitely gets first crack at anything we see hunting together.

well let me say this little does and little bucks don't run very far but I shot some bigger does and pretty nice older bucks and they are strong I mean I have walked up and found you know a chunk of heart where I shot them at and they have run over 50 yards. (Now this is with a bow though shotgun is a different story.)
