does snow affect movement??

I don't have much experience hunting in the snow and was just wondering if it changes the deers movement patterns and such. Just to give an idea itjust snowed about 9-10 inches here and I am wanting to hunt in it. Will they still go to food sources even if they are covered with snow? Will they travel far from bedding areas? Will anything change? Thank You!!

In our area deep snow forces the deer into the alfalfa fields to find feed.Cold weather makes them feed more as well. The last few seasons have been poor hunting due to warm temperatures and lack of snow in my hunting area.

one thing for sure, they are a lot easier to see in the woods when snow is on the ground.

You have to remember, 9-10 inches of diging is alot of digging for food. Around here, when it snows, they like to use browse alot from what I've seen, but I also see them in the corn fields alot. But we only get about 3 inches at a time, so corn is still pretty easy to get to. One thing is though, they will be up and moving alot more now in search for food, so mid day will be just as good as early.

Bucky one thing that deer love when there is a lot of snow is honeysuckle, they don't have to dig for it. If you know where a big patch of it is, give it a try.

Thanks everyone I have a stand near some honeysuckle that I think I will try it has never been real productive because around it they have to much clover and little stuff but now that is all covered in snow maybe they will be on that honeysuckle. Thanks if I get a biggin I will post the pics.
