I like the typical W-I-D-E racks of texas(genetics, of course) but for overall bucks in the wild you can't beat canada.

NO QUESTION IN MY MIND THAT IF YOUR HUNTING FOR BIG DEER YOU GO ACROSS THE BORDER TO CANADA ... I'VE HUNTED CANADA 5 TIMES ...3 IN ALBERTA AND TWICE IN SASKAT. .......THE DEER ARE JUST LARGER ...SOME NEVER EVEN SEE A HUMAN AND DIE OF OLD AGE ....YOU WILL NOT SEE AS MANY DEER AS YOU MIGHT IN THE STATES BUT IF YOUR HUNTING FOR THAT BUCK OF A LIFE TIME GO NORTH .....

They mustn't have very many wolves if the deer die of old age.

It's a matter of ideal deer size that does the best in each climate. Smaller deer body types do better in hotter/drier climates.
Bigger deer body types conserve body temperature in colder climates. So, generally speaking the farther you go North in the deer range of North America the average deer body size will be. Average deer size forthe same age animalsin northern US states (e.g. Minnesota, ILL., Montana, Iowa, Ohio, etc.) are considerably bigger than say Texas, Florida, GA, MS, etc. whitetails.
And then you go further North into Canada, they tend to be that much bigger still. Of course, quality and quantity of feed can have a secondary effect on total animal weight, but it won't affect the basic body type/size as much as the climate.
