Scope: Leupold VX-II 3-9X40 .
Or if shotgun only
Remington 1100 fully rifled barrel 12 gauge , in black synthetic stock .

Actually, the lowest recommendation would be 25-06 Remingtonand up, since 25-06 is sufficient for a cow or spike hunt, but I wouldn't go chasing Roosevelt elk with it, I wouldmuch rather prefer my .308 Win for hunting elk than a 25-06 Rem.
