Deer hunting shotgun

What do you guys feel are the top 3 deer hunting shotguns? Also, what is your preferred barrel length?

Hit the send button twice, sorry about that.

I have found that I like my new Remington 3 1/2 inch 870 express super mag. better then any other shotgun I have ever owned. I killed an eight pointer this year at 75 yards, (the deer was standing still.) I put a pattern master choke tube on it and shoot Federal OO buck.

I can only tell you about two I have owned and have tried.I have an older Ithaca Model
37 deerslayer 26in slug barrel 12Ga which I got from my father and wouldn't trade it for anything for the way it shoots.I also have a mossberg 12ga 835a with screw in chokes.I use an improved cyl choke and 2 3/4 in. slugs with good results out to 75 to 100 yds.I have heard alot of people on here who like the rem. 870 12ga but I personally have not tried it.

I use a 12 Guage Mossberg 500 with a 28" Barrell. Before this Gun... I had a 20 Guage Mossberg.

I've used both the Browning Auto 5 and Remington 870 Express. The browning handles 2 3/4" shells and the remington 2 3/4" and 3" shells. I've always gotten my best pattern from the 2 3/4" 00B shells. I use a modified choke and have no problem hitting deer out to 75 yds.

I have an Ithaca Deerslayer with a 21" fully rifled barrel and Leupold Vari-X II 3-9x40. I think it willshoot with the best of them. If I had the money, I'd like to try the custom TAR-HUNT 12 gauge from somewhere in PA.

My favorite picks are the 3 brands I can't afford, so I'll have to say Remington, Browning and Ithaca

I use an out of the box 2 3/4 870 for slugs. No complaints what so ever. I met Randy Fritz from Tar-Hunt at the Harrisburg show this past year. I have called him about 6 times with no response. Maybe he doesn't listen to his messages. His web site is www.tar-hunt.com I held his product in my hands and very impressed. Before that I was thinking of a 11-87 with rifled barrel and cantilevor mount. Good Luck. Capt Brad.

i shoot a mossberg 835 with a riffled slug barrel. shoots great. i like it better than my rem. 870. i use winchester partition gold slugs. you cant beat those things for range and accuracy. someone also told me light field makes a great slug that rivals the winchester but i havent tried it yet
