Do any of ya'll hunt near Kite, or Swainsboro? I have relatives from there, I was curious if anyone knew any of them. I also have relatives in Macon. Last names Loyd, Riner, Townsend.

Another Georgia hunter here. I hunt near Catfish, but live in Cherokee County. I have a question for all of you. Did any of you see any wild emus? We saw one, and my dad harvested it with his bow. Just wondering if anyone else saw any.

My neighbor killed one in his yard and gave it to me. My wife and I processed it and tried the meat but found it so tough we couldn't eat it. We tried several ways of preparing it taking care not to over cook or any of the other things that are supposed to make them tough but all to no avail. I have been boiling it and slicing it for the dogs lately and even they have a hard time with it. I understand that this particular bird had been seen in the area for quite some time and didn't have any fat at all so possibly a diet of whatever he/she could scrounge in the woods plus staying out of the way of Coyotes and Bobcats made it pretty tough.

Timbawolf,

Matter of fact one of our members mentioned somthing in this manner regarding what he called a thunder-bird,Ostrage or emu?

Not to sure what exactly he said, but he saw somthing that got his attention! I know there are a few farms around. May be we'll have a new hunting season
